If you read my last piece on the automakers’ bailout, two things should have been made quite clear. First, I really like Cherry Coke Zero. And second, I am 100% against any kind of bailout for the Big 3 automakers because there are alternatives that deserve consideration before putting taxpayers on the hook for worse financial decisions than letting Kellie Pickler do your taxes.

It is noon, four in the afternoon, and now only a few hours away from Christmas. How will you feel this evening? What will you think about? Where are your thoughts right now?

CHURCHVILLE, VA - Now we’re going to give Ford, GM and Chrysler billions of dollars so the Feds can order them to build more “green” cars - with gas now costing $1.49 per gallon. How many Americans will pay $30,000 for one of these new high-mileage lightweights instead of getting a family-protective SUV for the same bucks? Or a pickup to pull the boat? At $1.49 per gallon, not many. So Detroit will go broke again, unless the Feds slap on another $3 per gallon in gas tax.

Let’s understand something fundamental to everyone’s life in America and the entire economy. We are not “addicted” to oil. Like all developed, modern nations we use oil as a valuable resource for transportation, as the basis of plastics, and for a thousand uses from asphalt to Vaseline. We are not “addicted” to oil because it is essential to modern civilization everywhere.

Can Commissar President Obama get his “Police State” up to speed before the American street realizes his “Change” was to implement Marxist Socialist rule in the USA?

“Hypocrisy is the essence of snobbery, but all snobbery is about the problem of belonging.“ - Alexander Theroux - Smart people continue to do stupid stuff. . . personifying the Metcalf bromide about “some people don’t want to be confused with facts that contradict their preconceived opinions or prejudices.“

In another ridiculously lionizing report, the Chicago Tribune(1) has capitalized on the silly 1998 claim by Toni Morrison that Bill Clinton was the “first black president” by finding an Obama sycophant that is claiming Barack Obama is the “first Jewish president.“ Will this nonsense ever cease?

Harlingen, Texas, December 13, 2008:  The Christmas season is really in the air.  Last night we joined a group of carolers who visited with children in a Christian community filled with homes that are dedicated to caring for abandoned children and children removed from abusive families.  Along with the sounds of the season they brought armloads of wrapped gifts for the youngsters who ranged in age from one year to their teens.
